Retired NFL Star Michael Strahan to Return to Football This Fall
That’s right the former Defensive Player of the Year and holder of the NFL’s single season sack record is back into football.
One of the team leaders that helped the New York Giants win Super Bowl XLII, Strahan will co-star in a new half-hour comedy about a former NFL hot shot who learns that even though you can always go home again, the trip back might be tougher than you think.
Strahan’s Mike Trainor character appears to have it all – he’s a popular, good-looking, wealthy recently retired NFL player living the good-life in New York City, but he’s about to get sidelined. After getting a phone call from his mom (CCH Pounder, “The Shield”) who orders him home to Houston, Mike soon realizes the more his life has changed, the more his family has stayed the same.
The comedy co-stars Carl Weathers, (“Rocky”) as his father and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell as his wheelchair-bound brother. Brothers premieres in the fall and will air Friday’s at 8pm before Til Death.

comedies with a sports element have not done well on tv. latest was eastbound and down on HBO
Good to see Carl Weathers in the cast.
Strahan has an outsized personality that just might make it here.
