As part of ESPN’s 30 for 30 film series, filmmaker Frank Marshall (“The Bourne Ultimatum”, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, “Seabiscuit”) will direct a documentary that looks at the Right To Play organization which helps bring sports to children in poverty-stricken and war-torn parts of the world.

The nonprofit group was established by Johann Olav Koss who won three gold medals at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer Norway.

Marshall, who recently announced plans for a feature film on cyclist Lance Armstrong , has begun shooting in Asia to be followed by Africa and later at the Winter Games in Vancouver.

The veteran producer was also behind the first large-screen film about the Olympics when he covered the 1998 Games in Nagano, Japan with  ”Olympic Glory”.

This is a noble thing to be doing Koss, so I hope the film elevates their profile.

I did not know about this group. I hope they get all the support they deserve.
