Amy Adams To Mix It Up in “The Fighter”

amy_adamsTwo-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams (“Doubt”, “Junebug”) is set to co-star in the boxing film, “The Fighter”, opposite Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale.

The story examines the relationship of boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward (Wahlberg) and his trainer Dick Eklund (Bale) as they grow up on the mean streets of Lowell, Massachusetts to the title fight in London.

Adams is to portray a former high-jumper-turned-tough-bartender who dates Mickey.

Directed by David O. Russell (“Three Kings”), the production begins shooting next month.

Ah boxing, something Hollywood does well historically

Amy as a former high-jumper. Wonder if they will show that as part of her “backstory”. She doesnt look very tall.

They should do a story about a different take on the sport of boxing and show some aspiring pugilist coming from the upper classes
