These perennial conference powers will be there again as Jim Tressel welcomes back seven starting defenders and four on offense to this year’s team. The Buckeyes key to success in winning at least ten games each of the past four seasons is the defense’s ability to limit the opponents scoring, a category they have been among the national leaders for some time. It was under 14 last year. The defense will be led by top tackler Kurt Coleman and converted linebacker-to-rusher Thaddeus Gibson. But like last year, the Big Ten crown will likely come down to a match with Penn State.

Daryll Clark, one of the most dangerous option quarterbacks in the country, after largely being a spectator from the bench for two seasons, now takes over an offense that scored a conference record 39 points per game. But that is not likely to be repeated as all three of their great receivers have left. So it will be up to the legs more than arm of Heisman-candidate Clark to get it done. Clark will have the Big Ten’s leading rusher Evan Royster, one of only four returning starters on offense, to dish to.

Can the Nittany Lions repeat their 13-6 win on the road versus Ohio State last year? They host the Buckeyes in early November.

The Midshipmen almost wrecked our season yesterday. We cant be playing many more games like that and expect to be a title contender.

If it wasnt for picking off the potential tying 2ponit conversion, #6 Ohio State would have been embarrassed at home on opening day.

Man it was scary at times being part of over 100,000 – the largest ever to see the Buckeyes open a season. I wasnt comfortable until Rolle picked off that 2point pass attempt and galloped the other.

NOT a good start for a Top Ten team.

You gotta be kiddin’ me- Ohio State,a 21-point favorite, allows Navy to score twice in 4 minutes to cut a 29-14 deficit to two points with just over 2;00 left.

It may be a win in the record books, but it has got to play with Ohio Sate’s confidence for such a shaky start to the season.

Great to see Papa Joe on the sidelines after hip-replacement surgery.

Daryll Clark is the real deal. Penn State will go far with him at the helm.

Penn State at #9 looked a lot better than #6 Ohio State. Wonder if they swap rankings next week.

How can Ohio State have any confidence hosting USC next week after this weak display against lowly Navy?

I think Iowa is a team to consider in the Big Ten as well.Yes they squaked by Northern Iowa but hey they lost 4 games last year by a combined 12 points.

Trojans, even with freshman Barkely at the helm, have to feel good about next saturday traveling to Columbus.

Dont worry all you USC fans, Ohio State will be ready and give a real lesson to your rookie QB.

Big game today will go a long way to see what Ohio State is made of. A loss to USC this afternoon could put their shaky confidence in the cellar.
