Boise State
The Broncos BCS fortunes rest on the undersized shoulders of southpaw sophomore quarterback Kellen Moore. The savvy and efficient Moore threw 25 TDs as a redshirt freshman. Boise State have won at least 10 games seven out of the last nine years and there is no reason their winning ways will end this season.

TCU

Look out for the Horned Frogs! With TCU’s dominant defense, the national leader in sacks, Utah’s odds on repeating as conference champs are not great. TCU brings back 13 starters on a squad that was ranked seventh in the country. Their only two losses in an 11-2 campaign came against Top 10 teams.
The Utes also have a strong defense led by Stevenson Sylvester’s roving linebacker excellence, but they will be tested early against the big line at Oregon when they visit Eugene September 19th. Utah’s biggest need is finding a dependable replacement for quarterback Brian Johnson, MWC Offensive Player of the Year last season with a 26-7 starting record.

Pitt

Quarterback Bill Stull is the key player to watch since his mediocre play last year may bring a change, but perhaps the most exciting will be small but speedy freshman tailback Dion Lewis who will likely carry the load with his swift feet along with Shariff Harris and Chris Burns. Dave Wannstedt’s 9-3 unit of last season will not likely change it’s more conservative NFL-style philosophy of run-oriented to set up the pass even with a new offensive coordinator (Frank Cignetti) in place.

Boise State poised to make a great run this year.
The Big East is a Big Bust. Pitt is boring.
