Super Bowl XLV Prediction

Yes, I dare show my face after missing wide left AND right on my predictions on which teams would get here. Aiming for a little redemption, here is how I see Super Bowl XLV turning out.

Okay so we have a couple old-school organizations with rich heritages, the original champion franchise going up against one of the winningest Super Bowl franchises.

So what are some of the key factors that will come in to play on Sunday? Well running and defense usually get amped up at this time so if Green Bay’s James Stark cannot budge Pittsburgh off the line, Aaron Rodgers is going find the going a lot tougher against the Steeler defense. They will find a way to pressure Rodgers making it difficult to get the ball out to his solid receiving corps of Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones and Jordy Nelson.

On the other hand, Green Bay, despite numerous injuries throughout the year, has played very well defensively. Led by former defensive player of the year Charles Woodson creating chaos on the corner, linebacker Clay Mathews and tackle B.J. Raji, the Pack have executed Dom Capers’ cagey plans very well in these playoffs.

Still, I see Ben Roethlisberger having greater success than Rodgers by delivering a more productive mix using a combination of running back Rashard Mendenhall and tight end Heath Miller inside with receivers Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, Hines Ward and Mike Wallace having much better results on the outside than they did against the Jets in the AFC title game.

Pittsburgh earns their record seventh Vince Lombardi trophy.

The final score- Steelers 24 Packers 20.
