The rollercoaster that is college basketball will surely toss a few twists and turns that will derail some heavy favorites over the next few months, but here goes our predictions of the Elite Eight who will be there in March.

The Broncos BCS fortunes rest on the undersized shoulders of southpaw sophomore quarterback Kellen Moore. The savvy and efficient Moore threw 25 TDs as a redshirt freshman. Boise State have won at least 10 games seven out of the last nine years and there is no reason their winning ways will end this season.

These perennial conference powers will be there again as Jim Tressel welcomes back seven starting defenders and four on offense to this year’s team. The Buckeyes key to success in winning at least ten games each of the past four seasons is the defense’s ability to limit the opponents scoring, a category they have been among the national leaders for some time. It was under 14 last year. The defense will be led by top tackler Kurt Coleman and converted linebacker-to-rusher Thaddeus Gibson. But like last year, the Big Ten crown will likely come down to a match with Penn State.

Celebrating their 30th anniversary by engaging well-known filmmakers to create documentaries centered on the last 30 years in sports, ESPN’s ambitious project takes to the air beginning in the fall.
Airing on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET beginning October 6 and running through November 10,the series features notable directors and producers from Hollywood exploring topics ranging from the end of the USFL to the title fight between Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes to the story of the Baltimore Colts Marching Band which continued to march even though the team had moved to Indianapolis. Peter Berg’s film exploring the effects of the shocking trade of Wayne Gretzky from Edmonton to Los Angeles in 1988 will kick off the series Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Despite going with an untested quarterback (incoming freshman Matt Barkley) taking over the reigns from Mark Sanchez (now starting for the New York Jets) , new offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates will also play youthful running backs with emerging sophomore Curtis McNeal and redshirt freshman Curtis McNeal on a squad with twelve returning starters. Should Barkley falter, an even younger player will step in, redshirt sophomore Aaron Corp.
